Picture Update

We celebrated Thanksgiving at Grandma Lyn and Pop Pop's house. Grandma Liz, Grandpa Joe, Uncle Eric, and his friend Barry came up to celebrate with us. I ate my first meat at the turkey dinner. I had turkey of course...
On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, we went up to visit Great Grandpa George and Great Grandma Florence. And, of course we had to take another 4 generations photo.

Here is some of my art. Isn't it nice? I was inspired by Van Gogh.

Mommy bought me a carseat fuzzy blanket thinggee. It is nice and warm!

We found this great store in Paris called I Was In. Grandma got me this shirt so I could show off to Uncle Eric and Uncle Andy. Mommy and Daddy had a lot of things to launder when we got back from France and Belgium.

This is my latest picture in the purple chair.

Apparently Mommy always has to stop in Painters' Square when in Paris. We had a family portrait done. I'm not so sure the picture of me looks like me.

Here I am sleeping at the Musee du Orsee in front a very famous Van Gogh.

I nver really changed timezones. I stayed up playing until 1AM every morning.
Mommy and Daddy were not able to get a picture of me sleeping in front of Notre Dame. I was wide awake!
These phhotos are from the Louvre. I definitely feel cultured. Lots of people (from different cultures) came up to take pictures of me - even in front of works of art like the Mona Lisa.
We stopped in Epernay on our way back to Paris for a tour of the Moet and Chandon caves. It was a little chilly and they wouldn't let me sample the fancy grape juice.
We visited Mr. Rob and Ms. Caroline. My new boyfriend is due early next year. I got to test out his pack and play. We had a great time. Mommy and Daddy said they ate very well, too -- thanks to Mr. Rob's cooking.
When I was at Mr. Rob and Ms. Caroline's, I had my first big girl bath. It was just as fun as the bath at home!
These pictures are from Mont St. Michel. What a neat place! It is a castle (cathedral and abbey?) surrounded by water naturally when the tide is in. Our car was just beyond the line for where the water rises to. These two photos are from our visit to the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach. Mommy said the design from monument to headstones to museum was excellent. I slept through most of the tour.

These three photos are from our hotel in Bayeaux, France. We stayed in a chateau! Here are some photos of me playing while Daddy was in Singapore.
Halloween was a lot of fun. We walked in the parade with Anna and Walker in Dr. Roy and Ms. Marian's neighborhood. After the parade, there was a neighborhood party. Grandma and Uncle Andy came for the party. Then, we went to our own neighborhood parties. I was exhausted before bedtime.
Here is our first official family photo. This picture was taken right after I turned 6 months old. The church had someone come in and take photos. Do you like our matching outfits?

November update

Well, if I can update this about once a month, I suppose I am doing well. My attention span is nearly non-existent. I am everywhere these days. I don't have any pictures on the computer I am using to update the blog, so I will have to do a part 2 later. I konw you want na update though.

I started crawling forward in the last week! I still find rolling back and forth gets me where I want the easiest though. I started crawling backwards for a couple of days before I figured out forward movement. Plus, this past Monday, I figured out how to stand up in my crib at daycare. I had a great time standing on my own!

I still don't have any teeth, but I had a number of other firsts this month. I ate my first meat, turkey, on Thanksgiving! It was pretty good. I celebrated my first Thanksgiving at Grandma Lyn's and then at Great Grandpa George's. I am very thankful for Mommy and Daddy!

The week before Thanksgiving, I went on my first international trip - to France and Belgium. I never really changed time zones, but we had a great time and I napped in front of a lot of famous places, including the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach in Normandy, and the Louvre and Eiffel Tower, in Paris. The flight attendants said I did great on the plane. I did cry a little on the way over (because the rolling cart scared me awake when they rolled by my bassinet, which was essentially on box on the floor). We were in business class for the flight over! The strangest thing in Europe was all of the foreigners that wanted to take my picture - French people, Chinese people, Japanese people, etc. The funniest thing was that the only restaurant where the owner said I couldn't eat was a restaurant where they serve wine in baby bottles. Mommy said I wasn't old enough to have wine yet.

I was very excited to see Daddy when I got to France. I had not seen him in 2 weeks since he was in Singapore for work. He did buy me a book and a little stuffed tiger though. I had fun with Mommy while he was gone. We spent the night at Grandma Lyn and Pop Pop's house a couple of nights.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else new. I am babbling a bit more -- so Da da da da da says :) Until I post pictures...

October Update

On October 17, we went to the Lorton Workhouse for the first time. There is lots of neat art! I particularly like these musical, bouncing bugs we found in the gift shop. On October 18, Pop Pop came over to play with me. (He was also coming over for dinner since Grandma Lyn was in England.) As you can tell, I was wearing my Halloween pajamas. So, even after I take my costume off, I will be dressed up!














Daddy says baby food pictures are great things to show my future boyfriends. Here I am trying out prunes (along with my peas).





This is what I look like when Mommy and Daddy feed me when I am tired. Carrots are still my favorite!

Nana and Grandpa John came to visit me this past Friday. On Saturday, we played and then went back to the Lorton Workhouse. One of the artists wants to paint my picture! On Sunday, we went to the Maryland Renaissance Fair. Daddy threw axes while wearing a silly hat. He got one to stick in the wooden target just a smidge away from the target. I did really well. I helped Nana and Grandpa John navigate where to go after the joust. I didn't watch the joust. It was a little too stimulating with people yelling on all sides of me. So, afterwards, I took a nap in my carrier. Lots of people commented on my new hat. When we were sitting in Mommy and Daddy's favorite rocking chairs, I woke up. I liked it though...so I talked Mommy and Daddy into buying me one for my 1st bday :)

6 months!

Well, I am getting old. Can you believe I am already 6 months old? I went to the doctor for my 6 month checkup on Thursday. I am 15 lb 2.8 oz and 25.25" long. I am now under 50th percentile. Mommy and Daddy call me a runt, but the doctor said genetics will take over by the time I am 2. I received 3 shots while I was there - ouch! I had a fever all day on Friday as a result. We took pictures Friday night, but you can't see them yet. Olan Mills runs a "racket" as Mommy says as it will be 30 days for our very expensive pictures. We bought the copyright though, so as soon as we have them, I will post them here!

Today, I went to the Lorton Workhouse. It used to be the DC prison where the suffragists were sent. (I learned a big word!) Now, it is the location of many artists' studios. In the afternoon, I went shopping with Mommy. Apparently all babies take their mommies shopping on cold rainy days...We got into multiple stroller jams.

Texas! Part 2

On Saturday morning, after playing in the apartment, we went to the farm to check out the pumpkins. Madeleine and I both wore Halloween clothes. We are too cute! We fed the goats, looked at the pumpkins, and went on a hay ride. It was fun.












On Saturday afternoon, after nap time, we went to the Dallas World Acquarium. This was unlike any acquarium I have ever been to. Actually, I have never been to an acquarium. Mommy and Daddy said it was more like a zoo that also had an acquarium. We met my cousins, Ms. Holly, Mr. Lance, and Wade, at the acquarium. Wade is two months younger than I am. After the acquarium, we all went to Babe's for dinner. Mommy and Daddy said it was yummy, southern, family style eatin' (and Pop Pop's kind of place).

We spent the night at my cousins house. They have two puppies that are the exact age as Wade. That makes me the 4th youngest in the house! Wow! This morning, we got up and played! Wade and I were have so much fun today, we didn't want to take naps. We took turns taking 15-30 minute naps. Mommy, Ms. Holly, and I went to Kroger and bought ribs for dinner. Then, I took a good nap while Mommy, Ms. Holly, and Wade went to the mall. They were going to make ribs, but were out of gas...so, instead, they ate Gloria's take-out. Ms. Holly and Mr. Lance say it is the best Mexican (and Salvodorenean) in the area.

Texas!

I am in Texas! Here I am traveling through the airport. I love this mode of transportation. Unfortunately, we discovered that my car seat is not a rear facing car seat like the lady at Babies R Us told us....Luckily, Dr. Joel and Mrs. Amy have one that they are letting us borrow for the trip. Actually, Madeleine is letting me borrow it since it is hers. Madeleine is so cute. She is also very helpful. She has helped me put my pacifier back in several times.

We went to Fort Worth yesterday. At the Stockyards, we sat on a longhorn bull and watched the bulls walk down the street.

September Update

Wow! I have been busy growing and learning. So, I have not updated the blog in a long time. Thanks to those people that voted for Daddy and me in the Uncommon Goods contest! We won a $100 gift certificate.

Let's see. Where to start on what I have been up to? Well, I am probably about 15.5 lbs. I will let you know after I go to the Doctor's in a couple of weeks. I was just under 15 when Mommy weighed me using Wii fit and just over when Bhakeer at Cedar Cafe weighed me on the scale :) I have been trying lots of food. My favorite is carrots! I am sitting up for a good little while without toppling over. I do need help getting into the sitting position though. And, one of Mommy's favorite new tricks, I have started reaching towards the person I want to hold me or pick me up. (By the way, if I don't want you holding me, I will squirm and let you know it!)

Last night, I went over to Grandma Lyn and Pop Pop's house. Great Aunt Ina and cousin Keith came and joined us for dinner. This picture is proof that Uncle Andy has held me. He needs to visit me more :)

Last Saturday, September 26, I went to the Cortechs picnic. Cortechs is a company that works for CSC at Mommy's office. After the picnic, I put on my CSC pajamas that Mr. Dave had made for me. On Sunday, September 27, I went to my first Nats game. The VA Pep Band played the Star Spangled Banner. Mommy and Daddy met in the VA Pep Band. The game was fun. I got a stuffed eagle just for going to the game! The Nats did not win, but they were in the lead when we left during the 8th inning. We left because it was starting to rain.

On September 18, Mommy and Daddy celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary. I got to go have a play date with my buddy James while Mommy and Daddy went out for dinner and dancing at the Carlyle Club. The next night, I played with Grandma Lyn and Pop Pop while Mommy and Daddy went to the Spa and then Ruth Chris. I then spent a whole week with Mommy when Daddy went to New Jersey on September 20. On September 22, I had pictures at school. I can't wait to see how they turned out. On September 23, Mommy had her first day of the Leadership Fairfax Emerging Leader Institute. So, I spent time with Grandma Lyn and Pop Pop.

The weekend of September 12, we went to visit Great Grandpa George and Great Grandma Florence. Do you know how many shots it took us to get the four generations all looking at the camera at one time? :) September 10 was Great Grandpa George's 92nd birthday!!! That is more than 91 years older than me! I had a cold so I didn't sleep very well. I have been at least as healthy as Mommy and Daddy though. Daddy had whooping cough!

On September 5, Mommy and Daddy's friend Melissa got married. I didn't go to the wedding though. I spent time with Grandma Lyn and Pop Pop instead. On September 6, the weather was really nice, so we went to Mount Vernon. It was my first time there! On September 7, Labor Day, we went to visit Ms. Marian and Dr. Roy and Anna and Walker. We went to a picnic.

On August 29, I went to my first baby shower. The baby shower was for Ms. Jamie. I can't wait to meet my new friend when she comes into the world! On August 30, I had a play date with James (and his parents, Mark and Sarah). We had BBQ at the Inlet Cove Pool closing party and then went swimming. James and I were dressed very similarly.
