Somewhere along the line, we were upgraded to a savannah view and bunk bed room. What a treat! That made nap time and bed time in the room with kids soooo much nicer.
In the afternoon, we met up with Amy, Joel, Madeline, and Julia, and had some pool time while Lyra napped. I took Lyra to the store while we were trying to entertain her before heading to the park. She found her favorite character.
With our Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets, we were able to go into Magic Kingdom at 4PM. Our first ride was the tea cups.
The magic bands are amazing! You use them to get into the park, obtain and use fast passes, and to pay for anything in the parks, hotels, and Downtown Disney. Our first fast pass was in the new Fantasyland with Belle.
By the end of the night, our little pumpkin....er...skeleton passed out.
On Day 2, we started in Animal Kingdom. Celia was frightened by most of the shows and traditional Disney rides (and may never watch another 3D movie). She absolutely loved the roller coasters though. She loved the safari and the visits with characters. The whole experience tired Lyra out...
On day 3, we went to Universal Studios. Our only rain was at Universal. Fortunately, we were in the Disney Junior show for most of it.
We had to have a photo shoot in the lobby with our little Minnies to make sure the girls did not destroy their dresses before we could take photos. They are so cute! I'm not biased, right?
After the photo shoot, we headed to Magic Kingdom. This was a larger undertaking than we planned as our Disney bus was rear-ended. It was just tapped, but we had to wait for Disney transportation to come and collect our information and then we had to change buses. The girls were not very happy with the extra bus time. Disney did give us extra fast passes and desserts for our troubles.
On our last day, we went to Epcot. The first picture below is actually from when we went there on Day 2, but I wanted to include it with the Day 4 photos...We started off in the Seas, visiting with Crush.
We were able to squeeze one last trip on what was probably Celia's favorite ride - Test Track. You can now design your own car before you start. Then, as you go around the track, your car is rated against the other cars people around you create. Celia's car won!
The Princess lunch was delicious -- an added bonus to the pleasure of watching the kids look at the princesses. Those smiles were amazing! Lyra's reaction was amusing, too.
No trip to Epcot is complete without pictures of the sombreros in Mexico.
We were then headed quickly to Magic Kingdom. We took one of Celia's favorite rides - the monorail.
We were rushing to Magic Kingdom to ride Space Mountain. Due to our bus crash delay, we were unable to make it to Space Mountain the previous day. Since the kids couldn't ride, they got to visit with Stitch. And, since Jason had promised Celia she could have overpriced facepaint, she received extra princess decorations.
We actually had good bus karma for once and returned to the hotel just in time to pick up our bags from the bell hop, pick up some last things at the store, and get on the Magical Express back to the airport. This time, our flight was right on time. The only hard thing was the nasty flight attendant bringing us back to reality and out of Disney customer service land. All in all, it was a great vacation!
