Mount Vernon, Zoo, & More

I am a pro at using a straw now. I am currently working on mastering the cup. Here I am drinking from Mommy's cup.


As I stated in my last post, I had a great time at the zoo and at Mount Vernoon the weekend of April 11 and 12. Here are some of our many pictures.

At Mount Vernon, we took pictures in the upper gardens and on the back side of the house. I still don't like grass. My first reaction when put on the grass is to lift one leg and hold my arms in the air.





















I was hungry, so we sat on the lawn for a while.

Before we left for the day, Daddy took me over to visit the sheep. I thought they were going to nibble my toes.

I had to wait in line to see Tian Tian. I didn't get to see the female panda. I am hoping she is bringing a new little cub for me to see.

What a cute baby gorilla! It is about my size.

Just in case you think I am always happy, here is a picture of me in th emorning before going to the zoo. I didn't want to be put down. Can you tell?

I like to pull all my toys out when I am playing. I am not sure Daddy likes it though.

First steps

Breaking news!!!! I took 2 steps today. Then, Mommy and Daddy were clapping, so I clapped too. Then, I sat down. Mommy went for the camera, but I would not give a repeat performance. So, as always, you will have to wait to see my new trick until I am more practiced.

I had a great weekend! I went to the Zoo for the first time on Saturday. I saw a panda, an elephant, and gorillas. I even saw a gorilla that was about my size. On Sunday, we went to Mount Vernon. We took pictures in the upper garden and in the grass. I am still not really crazy about the grass. Anyway, you will have to wait for me to go through all the pictures before I post them. I will share my favorite so far though. Check out my teeth.

My 1st Easter and Passover!

Happy Easter! Happy Passover! Mommy tried to feed me matzoh brei, but I wouldn't have any of it. She didn't offer me a chocolate bunny.... After church, we went to Dr. Roy and Ms. Marian's house for lunch. While we were there, we took some pictures in the grass. I still don't like grass (or bunny ears), but I did like my Easter basket. And, I don't have any pictures, but we went to Melting Pot for Easter dinner with Grandma Lyn, Pop Pop, and Uncle Andy. Again, I wasn't offered any chocolate.

On Saturday, we had a small Final Four party. I had to go to sleep before the first final four game ended. I did get to play with Anna and Walker though.

As a result of Alfredo sauce not agreeing with my stomach, I got 15 minutes of naked time after my bath. It was great. Daddy said something about showing this photo to boys when I am older.

March Update

Welcome spring! I haven't posted in a while. I have been busy trying to get over cold after cold and growing teeth. I now have three teeth that even Grandma Lyn can see. She was having trouble seeing my two bottom teeth at first. My other big accomplishments this month are that I am a pro on the stairs, I had a sleep over (my buddy Brooke), and I am starting to eat what Mommy and Daddy call real food and ordered dinner at a restaurant! I like macaroni and cheese. I also like cake and cheetos and jello and ice cream. We had lots of parties at daycare since there were a couple of birthdays. I hear I have one coming up too. Okay, now onto pictures and videos.

I went on my first walk for charity on March 27. It was the National Walk for Epilepsy on the National mall. I didn't quite finish it because I was cold and my gums hurt, but I walked at least as long as I was supposed to by the end of the day. After calming down a little bit and warming up in the National Air and Space museum, we walked down to visit Uncle Andy. It was also National Kite Day.

Ms. Anita and Mr. Jason and Ms. Kristen and Mr. Greg brought Bella and Brooke to play with me. Mommy said it was her annual March dinner. We all had a great time at the tot lot in our neighborhood.

I got lots of family visits mid March. Nana came for a week and then Grandpa Joe and Grandma Liz came for a week. I hadn't seen them in a while. It was a lot of fun playing with them.

It is basketball season!! Daddy and I were all set to watch the Duke games.

It finally is starting to warm up!! I love going to the tot lot and swinging. I am not quite sure about the slide.

We went to North Carolina for Uncle Eric's birthday. Here is a picture of me with Hannah and a picture of Ethan eating Uncle Eric's birthday cake.

While we were in Durham, I got to meet new friends. In these pictures, I am playing with Sydney and Ms. Kelly is holding Reece and Chase. Sydney is 2 and Reese and Chase were 2 weeks.

Mommy got me squeakers! They are so great! In fact, she had to buy me two more pairs when they went on sale on http://www.mamabargains.com/. I am so close to walking. I enjoy taking my walker around the living room and kitchen.

Updates

I recently figured out that if I pull on these knobs, then I can open doors and drawers. I enjoyed pulling all of the socks out of Daddy's sock drawer about a week ago. Daddy found a way to thwart me in the kitchen though, as shown in the video below.


Mommy and Daddy like taking me for walks. I don't think they know it is cold outside. On President's Day, I went with Grandma Lyn, Pop Pop, and Daddy to visit George Washington at Mount Vernon. He had a birthday party on his front lawn. Mommy wasn't there, because she had to work that day.








Mommy said she had not taken a chair shot in a while. If you zoom in really close on the close up of my face, you can just see my first teeth coming through.

I have more pictures, but they are still on Daddy's computer and I need the flash drive. So, I will post another February update soon.
