After the rehearsal, we went out for ice cream! The kids got the very cute & free kid cups
Celia and I got up early the next morning to drive to Lake Wylie for hair and then to the bed and breakfast where Margie and Randy would spend their first night for make-up. The B&B scared me. It was so full of chotchkies and stuff.
We arrived at the barn in time for some fun and pictures. We did not take too many pictures (although this blog would suggest otherwise) because of the photographer's uber restrictive requirements.
After the pastor arrived, the wedding started. Celia did great! Lyra stayed occupied during the ceremony by eating popcorn.
After the ceremony, it was time for fun - corn hole, frisbee, dancing, and more! The bonfire and s'mores at the end of the night were a huge hit.
We left after the wedding to head for Grandpa Joe and Grandma Liz's house for a couple of days. A trip to Grandpa Joe and Grandma Liz's house would not be complete without tractor rides. Note: Lyra was still enjoying the popcorn.
The next day, Celia talked Grandpa Joe into letting her drive.

We went to Discovery Place on the way from Clover back to Mint Hill. I had not been to Discovery Place since I was in girl scouts in the late 1980's. I would say it change da lot, but I honestly don't remember what it used to be like. Lyra had a blast in the little kid area.
Donna and Jason went to a park while I worked.
The next morning, it was time to head to Duck for Eric and Gin's wedding. We decided the perfect stopping point on the way would be the zoo. It was a great way to walk around, entertain, and tire the kids out for naps for the remainder of the car ride. The baby gorilla was just about Lyra's age.
We had to pay a little extra to go out to the giraffe pier, but it was worth every penny.
We actually made it all the way from the zoo to the house in Duck without stopping. It was amazing! We had to get a beach time in after the drive.
The next morning, the girls relaxed a little while the boys went to play golf.
Gin knew there would not be much time for pictures after the ceremony and before dinner, so we took pictures the night before. She asked that everyone wear teal or white.
That night, we went out to the local bar for karaoke and drinks. I think that was my first real karaoke experience. Wow. Our folks definitely sounded better than the others. Perhaps that was because Jason and I didn't sing :)

The pastor had not downloaded the readings onto his iPad, so we had time to take a couple pictures outside before heading up the street to the sound.
We finally made our way towards the wedding site. The bride and groom decided on the sound so that we could hear (as the wind was really loud on the beach). Plus, we didn't really want the random people in bathing suits around...Everything was perfect after I ran back to the house for the rings not long after taking the backside of the first photo below.
Gin's parents put together a cocktail hour at Duckleberry Fin.
The reception was at the Sanderling. The cake was made by Gin's friend and maid of honor. The top was gluten free and delicious!

We started off our summer Friday pool nights with Peeps s'mores. Yum!
We went to Joy's birthday party where the girls became part of a princess story. All the girls dressed as princesses to attend the party, but were re-dressed for their parts in the story.
