Snowy February

Wow is February off to a very cold, white start. It keeps snowing and snowing. Here are pictures from the Blizzard of 2010 that started on February 5. After shoveling, Mommy and Daddy took me to the tot lot for me to swing. The snow was over 2 feet deep and I couldn't actually swing very well.

Sunday after the storm, we ventured over to Grandma Lyn and Pop Pop's house. I stayed warm inside with Grandma and Pop Pop while Mommy and Daddy went outside and played in the snow. Here is one of their videos. And they call me silly...

Mommy and Daddy bought a new toy for me on Tuesday. It is a Jeep jogging stroller. It looks brand new, but it is really 3 years old. They bought it off Craigs List from someone on Fort Belvoir. He posted about it an hour before Mommy and Daddy talked about looking for one. They say it was obviously meant to be...Here I am trying out my new toy. You can see the bigger toy brought in to remove snow in the background.

It snowed again yesterday! Luckily, it didn't snow as much as they said it would. It only looks like 8". Snow drifts make it hard to tell though. Here is Mommy shoveling.

I almost forgot to tell you. I finally have teeth! And, I don't think they are all that great. My gums have hurt for over a week now! I would show you a picture, but you can barely even see them. Mommy and Daddy said they could feel them though....so, stay tuned. As soon as they are big enough, I am sure the camera will capture them.

In other news, I changed daycares the last week of January. Mommy and Daddy are very happy about their new commutes. I miss Ms. Cheryl, but I am having a lot of fun with my new teachers and friends. Plus, I am learning Spanish and Urdu from my teachers. There are a lot of kids my age in my new class, including one named Audrey. Mommy says that is weird, but I don't understand why.

Here are some other updates on my progress/growth. I think I am getting closer to walking. I can pull up on anything, even the wall. I have gone over and used the walker my cousing Pam got me for Christmas without anyone else's help. I also really enjoy going up the stairs. I am pretty good at going down them too, but not in the way Mommy and Daddy want me to. As for language, I am not talking very much. The "da" sound is still my favorite (well, other than rasberries). I am signing 3 signs though. I sign "milk" pretty consistently. And, I just recently started using the "more" and "all done" signs.

January update

We surprised Grandma Lyn on her birthday. She was really surprised, too! Lots of people came down to help us celebrate, including Uncle Eric, Hannah, and Ethan, and Keith and Pam. Uncle Andy got very dressed up for the occasion...or, maybe it was his company Christmas party he went to afterwards.
The next weekend, we went to Ms. Anita's new house in Gainesville to help celebrate her birthday. In the picture below, you see me playing with my friends Brooke and Bella. Mommy, Ms. Anita, and Ms. Kristen are in the background.

I really enjoy tub time. Mommy likes to make sure I have plenty of bubbles. Grandpa Joe came to visit me this weekend on his way to Great Grandpa George's house. Here we are playing before he left.

2010!

Happy New Year! I slept through the ball dropping, but I got to play with the noise makers after Mommy and Daddy picked me up from Grandma Lyn and Pop Pop's house.

Christmas

My first Christmas was a lot of fun. I tried to get into my presents Christmas Eve, but Daddy wouldn't let me. I read with Nana instead. She brought up some toys for me that were not Christmas presents.

For church and dinner, I wore my Santa dress. Great Grandma Florence bought me a special Christmas bib that I wore while I ate dinner. Everyone came to our house for dinner. We used the Reindeer plates. I have my own special Rudolph mug, bowl, and plate.

On Christmas morning, I was able to open my stocking while we waited for Nana and Grandpa John to come downstairs. I got a snowman book in my stocking. It is neat with lots of pages to eat...um, touch. I had fun opening presents. I did have to take a nap halfway through though. After my nap, I was able to play with some of my presents. In the afternoon, we headed over to Grandma and Pop Pop's house. Mommy finished decorating her Santa shaped red velvet cake. She said it was kind of strange to slice later on. Before Uncle Eric, Hannah, and Ethan arrived, we went to visit Anna and Walker (and their family). I had presents to exchange. Anna picked out some pretty dresses for me.

There was lots of family at Grandma's. My Great Aunt Brenda and her grandson, Harvey, came to visit me. Later, Santa arrived. Did you notice he kind of looks like Uncle Eric? Hannah and Ethan really liked their presents.

The night after Christmas, I went on my first limo ride! Grandma and Ms. Tami rented a limo to take everyone sight seeing. We went and saw the National Christmas tree. Apparently we stopped at the Lincoln Memorial, the WWII memorial, and Georgetown cupcakes. I didn't get a cupcake because I was asleep.

I had a great 1st Christmas. I can't wait until next year when I understand a little better how to open the presents! I am excited about tonight also! I am going over to Grandma and Pop Pop's house! I am going to spend the night! I won't see Mommy and Daddy until next year...Oh, that makes it sound scary. I will be okay though. I am fearless :)

Blizzard

More of that strange, cold, white stuff fell from the sky this past weekend - a lot of it! For the most part, I stayed inside and played on the laptop and looked out the window. I did go out a couple of times though. Daddy even put me in the snow. It was really cold. Mommy gave me a nice warm bath afterwards though.

Saturday night, I partied it up at Ms. Joan's and at Mr. Pat and Ms. Carol's houses. Luckily, the parties were in the neighborhood, so we didn't have to go far.

Santa & Snow

It snowed today!! Wow! Crazy, cold white stuff falling from the sky! There wasn't enough at my house to play in though.

This afternoon, I went an saw Santa for the first time. He is a jolly old man. He let me sit on his lap. I told him that I want empty boxes with wrapping paper for Christmas! While we waited in line, there was a little boy 2 weeks younger than me behind us. He had 5 teeth! But, he can't sit up very well yet. I can pull myself up to standing in my crib anytime I want!

On Thursday night, we went and picked out a Christmas tree. I picked out a really pretty one.
